Performance Based Training

Every FCS technical employee has significant experience providing classroom training to all learning levels from new hire to Control Room Operator to corporate management. We have been in these positions ourselves.

FCS tailors our training services to the needs of the audience. We understand the maintenance technician may not need training on how to start and operate the system. Similarly, the Operator does not need to know the details of troubleshooting a transmitter.

FCS prints and bind a copy of our training presentations and if appropriate, full-sized, copy of developed P&IDs for each trainee for the training course. This allows the trainees to mark up and keep a copy of the material.

FCS coordinates with Plant Management to schedule times for the training sessions to be presented onsite to plant personnel on your schedule.

We typically administer a course quiz to each group of trainees to confirm that the trainees gained the knowledge defined by course objectives. Any identified weaknesses are then retrained to ensure the course objectives are met.

Following completion of each session, FCS prepares a report for management. Issues (typically plant operational concerns) that FCS believes management should be aware of that arise during training are highlighted.

The effective implementation of a training and qualification program requires that details be considered. These may include items such as the time allowed to complete various components of training and qualification; procedures to be followed when a trainee fails a test; and qualifications and requirements for those who administer tests.

FCS often recommends we develop a Training Program Administrative Guide, which will spell out these details. The Administrative Guide purpose is to provide the framework required to institutionalize the training and qualification program in the plant ensuring consistent and comprehensive training. This will also ensure that qualification paths and expectations for each trainee are consistent, which helps assure that evaluations are both fair and valid.
